Hiro of Heroes
Hiro of “Heroes” celebrates another victory over the dark forces of hunger.

Critics are raving about Pork TV’s new fall lineup

Video Americain Idol
Last season, a whole city watched as contestants had to justify their video selections to a panel of young and disaffected clerks. Now the top vote getters are back…as judges! The customers will have the final say as this season’s contestants vie for the title of Rudest Clerk. Who will make the least eye contact and bare the most belly?

Tossed
Tossed chronicles the lives of yard sale survivors that have crash landed on a curb after failing to sell. A broken coffee pot, a stringless racket, and a Happy Meal toy take shelter in a roadside bamboo jungle while they wait for the Value Village truck to rescue them.

Heroes
This epic drama follows the lives of ordinary people who discover sandwiches that possess extraordinary abilities to quell hunger at a very reasonable price.

Grouse
When Dr. Gregory Grouse leaves work, he brings his notoriously cranky bedside manner home with him. His acerbic personality borders on the antisocial, but Grouse believes himself to be a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts make him an asset to his neighborhood association’s listserv. No topic is too trivial to argue, and no speed bump too small to oppose.

The L Word (Takoma Park)
The racy drama following the lives and loves of a group of hot young lesbians goes Takoma Park! This season, a rift develops in the babysitting coop over whether it’s abusive to let babies cry it out.

Dead Wood
Dead Wood follows the exploits of Wild Todd Bullock in the outlaw camp of Takoma Park, as the arborist endures the abuses of residents channeling Calamity Jane’s foul mouth. A lengthy drought brings tensions to the surface, pitting water conservationists against proponents of the Old Town Adopt-A-Tree program.

Kathy Porter Living
It worked for Martha Stewart after prison, so why not follow a lengthy stint in the mayor's office with a home and garden show? In the premier season, Porter gives tips on perfecting the leaf pile, walks viewers through creating a garden that says “benign neglect,” and crafts a lovely Thanksgiving centerpiece out of empty yogurt cartons that can't be recycled.

That’s So Rave!
Walt Rave is a typical Takoma Parkian who just happens to be psychic. Rave has visions of a future without carnivores or tool library customers. Hilarious hijinx ensue as he and his loyal fox attempt to make those visions come true.
The Histrionics Channel
You knew that your “Aum”-chanting, peace-loving Takoma Park brethren were a little uptight, but have you actually witnessed them in an all out tantrum? Well, the hidden cameras of the Histrionics Channel have caught scores of Takoma Parkians on tape as they get their rage out – from bicyclists flipping off humvees, to parents asking their kids to “USE YOUR F-IN’ INSIDE VOICES!”

RETCH! (with Fluff Fluffman)
From the makers of PBS’s FETCH! and NBC’s Fear Factor comes RETCH!, the new reality show for kids. Each week host and cartoon dog Fluff Fluffman, voiced by Fear Factor’s Joe Rogan, assigns his young contestants to challenges designed to gross them out. Last one to RETCH wins! Next week’s challenge: who can eat their buffalo testicle meatball sub the fastest?!!

Pork TV

Takoma Pork is Takoma Park's very own satirical newspaper. When not cavorting with the Takoma Voice, it is published quasi-quarterly by Molly Galvin,Benjamin Purow, Marjory Ruderman and Hisao Yatsuhashi. Takoma Pork can be found in fine local establishments and at: takomapork.com .
